Our Story

My name is Jack Connolly the founder of cosy roses, Back in 2018 I was just your average 27 year old man working in construction, life was perfectly normal until we was hit with the most devasting news that my partner Leonie had cancer.

Leonie was incredibly strong and brave throughout the whole ordeal always remaining positive and telling others to not worry, which was inspiring and heartbreaking at the same time. Unfortunately After many months of ups and downs, lots of treatment things took a sudden turn for the worst.

 

On the 7th of July 2019 my world fell apart when I lost Leonie, my partner of 14 years and the most perfect mother to our daughter Remaé. Life wasn’t so beautiful or normal anymore. As I lay my partner to rest in a field of what was suppose to be green grass and hundreds of beautiful coloured flowers. To me everything was grey.

My look upon life was different. The world was no longer filled with colour. I had lost everything and my beautiful and brave daughter Remaé has to grow up without her amazing mother.

After some time, I pulled my self together and started to think of something that I could create in memory of Leonie, This is when Cosy Roses was born. Every Sunday I would go to the florist and pick out a rose, a bright red beautiful rose full of life. I would place this by the grave side and have a little chat with Leonie, The flower would sit there looking so stunning. I now knew the importance that this one single flower can bring to a person or situation.

How preserved roses are good for the environment?

Real rose farming is harsh on the environment as they leave a huge Co2 footprint from mass rose farming to keep up with world wide ever increasing demand for roses. 

Cosy roses are sourced fairly and responsibility from Ecuador. Our roses last up to 3+ years having a good Impact on our environment as they are flowers that are long lived.

Our classy, adorable and significant roses are suitable for any occasion. This could be for weddings, anniversary’s, Valentine’s Day and of course, a gift for just any special occasion, or a gift just to yourself to place within your home. 

I’ve always wanted to create something beautiful to remember the angel that is Leonie Carroll.
